Recently, Visual Composer Team asked for my quote about how WordPress Community supports Ukrainians for their article. And Iā€™ve decided to share more thoughts here to Thank YOU one more time.

Honestly, I was ready for the war. 3 days before, we were so frustrated with my husband about the war threat from russia, so we decided to enjoy each moment.

I remember, it was 10 p.m. when we packed so-called ā€œalarm backpacksā€ with all things we needed if we were about to leave immediately (clothes, some food, water, warm clothes, medicines, all documents, etc.). Then we ordered sushi delivery šŸ˜€ and prepared a full bath of water to just relax.

But I wasnā€™t expecting to hear bombs or missiles in the 21st century. I wasnā€™t expecting that millions of Ukrainians would lose their homes or must move to a safer place.

On the 24th of February, we grabbed our ā€œalarm backpacksā€ and moved to my familyā€™s house outside the town.

Spoiler: it was a huge mistake.

As my familyā€™s house was too close to the attacks. 2 weeks was a total nightmare, so we decided to move immediately to Western Ukraine. After 2 weeks, I was able to get back to work.

And Community was the first who helped me overcome and proceed working. Iā€™ve received so many supportive emails with suggestions to shelter my family and me.

Iā€™m so grateful for this. šŸ’™

As Iā€™ve realized, we are not alone; we can overcome the monster and continue living our enjoyable lives.

Our clients constantly were asking how to support Ukrainians, so we put up the banner with the ability to donate to the fund we trust.

Nowadays, there are hundreds of Ukrainian funds that you can donate, starting from supporting our army to humanitarian help. Weā€™ve mentioned several funds in our article, but there are lots of them for different needs.

I also wanted to mention where someone has pain and misery, there always be those who make use of other money. So, donā€™t trust each person who asks for money, and donā€™t be afraid to ask for proof or reject, as there could be fraudsters.

For the record, my personal Instagram account was hacked to ask my friends for money (I only had 500 subscribers), and some of my friends transferred money immediately.

Taking the opportunity, I want to Thank you and the WordPress community for spreading the word about Ukraine, for helping us, and for cheering and supporting us.

Sending hugs and wish you happy and peaceful Holidays. šŸŽ„
